"Peace, Love, and Piercings" is an informational booklet targeted toward teen and young adult women who are interested in learning more about piercings and body modification. This booklet goes step by step through the entire process, from the moment you decide you want a piercing to the healing and aftercare that lasts months after. Discussing subjects such as options, myths regarding piercings, and more, the goal of this book is to educate in detail.
Goals
Establish a lively and playful theme that is appropriate for both the subject matter and the target audience.
Create patterns and design elements inspired by styles popular amongst young women and teens.
Cover each part of the piercing process in great detail to ensure no question is left unanswered.
Research
As someone with much education about piercings and piercing safety, I knew exactly what content I needed to make an impactful and detailed booklet. After reading through numerous websites, entries from multiple sources were compiled and organized to relay the information from start to finish of the whole process.
Final Results
The final project proved to be successful and a great representation of the content with fun and inviting decorative elements incorporated. This piece was my first attempt at editorial design and I feel as though the end result was something to be proud of.
